National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking withdrawal of appeals against the acquittal of former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in a 25-year-old case. Nab has argued in the petition that further prosecution of appeals will be a futile exercise, photocopies of documents against Asif Zardari are also hardly on record, the available documentary evidence is not in accordance with the evidence law.
