8 ways to help your child crawl

This training is crucial for the baby's development, according to a pediatric orthopedist.

The first year of life is full of intense and fascinating motor and cognitive development. That newcomer to the world is able to roll over, sit up, support its own head, and explore the world around it in a short period of time. Each child has his or her own rhythm, and each stage has its own need for attention, as new dangers may present themselves in the way of the little one.

A baby can start crawling between the ages of 7 and 10 months, according to a pediatric orthopedist. To support the trunk and lift it off the ground, the arms and legs must be strong.

Crawling can be done in a variety of ways, including with four supports (hands and knees on the floor), buttocks with the help of hands, and sliding belly down. The most important thing is for the baby to be able to explore its surroundings and strengthen its muscles before learning to walk. Parents and caregivers must actively encourage the development of motor skills in their children.

Some children, on the other hand, dislike crawling and try to avoid this crucial developmental stage. Here are some suggestions for these situations:

1. Offer stimuli

Stimuli should be given to a child who is awake and calm.

2. Place the child on his stomach

Place the child on his stomach, but keep an eye on him. Babies over the age of six months can stay in this position for 20 to 30 minutes.

3. Use mirrors

Using mirrors can be fun. It can also encourage crawling by arousing the child's natural curiosity.

4. Crawl with baby

Crawling alongside your baby can be motivating and set a good example for your child.

5. Don't overdo it in practice

If the parents exaggerate the stimuli, the child may become irritable and cry. It's fine if the fun has to come to an end. It's critical that he develops positive associations while training.

6. Show objects

Show objects that arouse the child's interest and that are not so close to him.

7. Put obstacles in the way

Small obstacles (pillows, boxes, pillows) can be placed in the way as the child's skills develop.

8. Play with the baby

A good tip is to get involved in the game and hide behind obstacles while playing.

If the baby is already crawling, however, extra attention to the environment is required to avoid accidents. The baby should never be left alone; for example, the mattress in the crib should be lowered. Bars should also be installed on stairwells and dangerous rooms' doors, such as the kitchen and backyard.

Small objects should also be kept off the floor so that the baby does not swallow them."  It is necessary to be careful with corners, sockets, loose wires and always keep the child away from places with water, because only 5 cm of depth is enough for drowning.
