I can hold the biggest meeting on 48 hours' notice: Altaf Hussain. Yes he can

Altaf Hussain of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in London has said he can hold the biggest rally today on 48 hours notice. His popularity can be gauged by his low voter turnout in recent by-elections in Karachi. He spoke at a press conference in Egware, London.

Altaf Hussain stated that if he is given a free hand, he can hold the largest rally in 48 hours even today. He has stated that MQM Pakistan has no status and that the only person known to the public is Altaf Hussain. 'Do you consider anyone as MQM except Altaf Hussain,' he asked the journalists and activists present at the press conference.

The MQM ruled Karachi in the 1980s and 1990s, and had a lot of influence in many urban areas of Sindh. It has been accused of violence, and security agencies have conducted operations against it. Altaf Hussain has said that the London court gave a decision in favor of MQM Pakistan in the properties case, and if the British Government and Bar Association of British Courts do not take notice, this decision will become part of a disgraceful streak in the UK justice system.

Altaf Hussain lost a case in which properties worth millions of pounds in London were declared the property of MQM Pakistan. He appealed to the British Home Secretary, Foreign Secretary and House of Lords to set up a committee of legal experts to scrutinize the court decision. He said he will appeal against the court decision and that a new judge may look at the evidence from a new perspective. Aminul Haq, Nadeem Nusrat, Dr Farooq Sattar and Waseem Akhtar are the plaintiffs in the case on behalf of MQM Pakistan, while Altaf Hussain, Iqbal Hussain, Tariq Mir, Mohammad Anwar, Iftikhar Hussain, Qasim Ali Raza and Ureo Property Development Limited are defending on behalf of MQM London. The case was filed by MQM Pakistan in October 2020.
