Book Review: The Love Hypothesis

Olive Smith, a third year Ph.D. candidate finds herself in a ridiculous fake dating arrangement with Dr Adam Carlsen, a young, accomplished and handsome professor at her university. Initially she believes what everyone else at the campus does: that he is “unapproachable and antagonistic”. But gradually she begins to find that there is more to him than his broody, tall self. 



The Love hypothesis is such a feel good, witty and adorable rom com. It's obviously cliched and cheesy but those exact elements made me go gaga over the whole book. I found myself giggling like a little girl at all the “pumpkin spice” and “smart-ass” moments. Judge me if you will but I am a sucker for rom-coms and this just checked all the boxes for me especially because of all the early 2000s vibes. 

The characters and relationships in the book are extremely wholesome.  The friendship between Anh, Olive and Malcom is exactly the kind you need to survive your university life.  Holden, though his role was small, I loved how supportive he was of Adam and his happiness. Olive and Adam were such awkward cutie patooties. Finger hearts for them!  The last scene where he stood up for Olive reminded me so much of Cihan when he defended Haya. 

In conclusion, if you want to get over your reading slump or in the mood for something light and breezy, this is definitely the one for you.

Brutal crackdown by the government could not deter people from coming out of their homes and heading towards Islamabad

 The government’s crackdown on PTI workers and supporters made it clear that they have decided to stop PTI’s Independence March at all cost. News reports say more than 1,000 PTO workers and activists have been arrested.  The government has called in the Rangers to maintain law and order in Islamabad and other major cities of the country, including Karachi. All entrances and exits to and from Islamabad were shut down, as was traffic between Lahore and the Twin Cities. The government has also instructed transport companies not to offer buses, cars, or vans to PTI workers. The manner in which Shahbaz and its allies are using state apparatus to prevent people from participating in the march is not acceptable.  The #WeAreComingKaptaan hashtag tells us that brutal crackdown by the government could not deter people from coming out of their homes and heading towards Islamabad.  Look what this government is doing spreading broken glasses on the road.

 DDR4 memory is found on most personal computers. The next generation memory standard is coming out. Computers users expect increased performance and optimal power consumption  in the new chips.  If we focus on raw data, the main changes include a reduction in the voltage from 1.2V to 1.1V, and the 8n prefetch buffer will be replaced by 16n prefetch buffers, i.e. 16 bits per hour will migrate from memory cells to the IO buffer, while performance will be scaled from 3.2 Gbps to 6.4 Gbps per I/O connection. We can expect increased performance as some memory makers  have managed to enhance JEDEC specifications for DDR4.  The design of the DDR5 memory modules is based on 288 needles.
