Acer Predator Orion 3000 is decent gaming PC

The Acer Predator Orion 3000 is one of the few reliable and affordable pre-built desktops available to PC gamers worldwide.

The RTX 3060Ti, 16GB of memory, and SSD storage are all features of this $2800 desktop's 11th Gen Intel processor..The older CPU may be a bottleneck for some spec freaks, but it was never a problem for me.

Compared to the Orion 5000 and 7000, the Orion 3000 is smaller. Despite lacking an RTX 3080 or water cooling, the Orion 3000 is a fantastic work and play computer. We must keep in mind the high price of graphics cards.

Our review unit still features the angular, outdated design. It stands out to me and I think it looks fantastic. This design was a two-year upgrade. It is  pretty compact. It's 175mm wide, 386mm deep, and 392mm tall and fits on my desk with an ultrawide monitor and printer without crowding.

The case has several practical improvements and is built for better ventilation. The front I/O and a retractable headphone stand are revealed when two concealed panels are opened. It was good, however the ports shouldn't be hidden. Additional ports for permanent components are located at the back. I appreciate that the Orion 3000 has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi built in.

The front RGB fan of the Orion 3000 takes in cool air while releasing heated air because it is air-cooled. Acer used the OEM Intel cooling, which is substandard. There are coolers that look and function better. Despite my nitpicking, the CPU and GPU remained cool throughout extended gaming sessions. Except when in Turbo mode, the combination operates without a hitch. Surprisingly, the Orion 3000 was quieter than the Alienware Aurora R14.

I was amazed by the RGB lighting zones on the Orion 3000. The front of the case houses the triangle power button, side LED strips, and front fan. The back fan and RGB strip allow for case lighting customization with Acer Predator.

The Orion 3000 performs admirably on productivity test results. One of my highest PCMark10 scores is 6712 points. I've tried a few other gaming PCs, but Cinebench 8135 was slower.

At its highest settings, the Orion 3000 offers lag-free 1080p 60 fps gaming. For 1440p/60fps gaming, the RTX 3060Ti GPU is excellent. The Orion didn't flinch between games on my Ultra-wide Prism+ X340Q. Using ray-tracing, Guardians of the Galaxy ran in 1440p, 21:9, and 60 frames per second. The Orion 3000 functioned without a hitch.

.Verdict

The Acer Predator Orion 3000 would remain in my setup. It satisfies my needs and is simple, lovely, and calm. Although you can add those components yourself, it could use a better CPU cooler and stronger case fans. not after having spent $2800. Similar systems on Mwave or Umart are more expensive.

With a redesigned casing and Intel 12th Gen processors, Acer will upgrade the Orion 3000, which should improve performance. This machine is exactly what it says it is, so you won't be disappointed.
