Much more useful with milk

A new study has found that a combination of proteins and antioxidants doubles the anti-inflammatory properties in immune cells.

Coffee consumed on a daily basis contains plenty of antioxidants called polyphenols, which reduce inflammation. Inflammation is a part of the body's immune system, which initiates the healing process by identifying and eliminating any external interference.

However, chronic inflammation increases the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.

A new study has found that the use of polyphenol-rich items with items rich in amino acids (the basic element of protein) makes antioxidants more effective against reducing inflammation.

Because very few studies have been done on the consequences of using polyphenols with other molecules such as amino acids. To find out, researchers at the University of Copenhagen injected immune cells into artificial inflammation.

Some cells were given different doses of polyphenols including amino acids (such as coffee is given with milk), while others were given only doses of polyphenols (like black coffee). While no dose was given to one control group.

The study found that immune cells that were given a mixture of both elements to reduce inflammation had less inflammation than a diet containing polyphenols alone.

In the study, published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, the researchers found that a mixture of proteins and antioxidants doubled the anti-inflammatory properties in immune cells.

Researchers said that the results of the research suggest that drinking coffee with milk has anti-inflammatory effects within itself. Milk is rich in proteins and contains all the nine amino acids that are essential for humans.

Professor Mariane Nissen, who led the study, said that the matter will be looked at in more depth by researching animals.
